Beeswax

Beeswax

Origin    Eastern Oregon

Benefits    Beeswax is a thickening agent, emulsifier and humectant (pulling moisture from the air to the skin) and has emollient, soothing and softening properties.

Notes    Our beeswax is a biologically active product retaining its anti-bacterial properties and vitamin A, which is necessary for normal cell development. We have established a wonderful working relationship with a local, ethical and environmentally aware beekeeper. By supporting local farmers, it guarantees us a constant supply of the finest 100% pure beeswax in the world as well as ensuring a fair price for the people who make it all happen. Bees are crucial for the survival of mankind, and the beekeepers are crucial for the bees. It is this positive synergy that makes this such a rewarding relationship. One of nature's beautiful products, beeswax is secreted by four pairs of glands on the underside of a worker honey bee's abdomen. It is melted in a solar wax melter (it has never been subject to high temperatures), so it retain then hand filtered and processed, yielding a golden, honey scented wax.
